Okay, Yasuna and Tomari are stripped down to skimpy bikinis and thrown into a vat of mud. The prize is their lesbian object of affection. They are ready to fight to the erection-inducing death. Whose side are you on?

A few people have touched on this already (Jeff), but I’d like to see more opinions. I have a feeling the Me option will get at least 90%. Please don’t abuse my absurd poll answers. :P

Okay, how lame are you guys? 37% are all “bah-humbug, Valentine’s!” Geez, is it that bad? Single or not, I think it’s kind of fun. You should be ashamed of yourselves. I think it’s funny that homemade chocolate and anime/manga tied for second at 18%, though. I guess your otaku desire to act out the Japanese tradition of receiving chocolate and your otaku desire to receive anime were in utter conflict.

Tomari, the childhood friend, probably ‘deserves’ it more… if only because I’m well-inclined towards the idea that ’she who has always been there for Hazumu the boy should be able to get Hazumu the girl, especially if she doesn’t care about the gender’. Yasuna saw Hazumu, but was afraid he’d vanish if she returned his affections… which made her choice to pursue when he became a she much easier. Tomari, on the other hand, didn’t care about the gender - she liked Hazumu… period.

    For that, I’d suggest Tomari ‘deserves’ it more, though Yasuna’s position is a lot better explained, and the development of the relationship is better handled in the anime than in the manga.

    But I voted ‘me’ in the poll above, just to throw a wrench into the works. ;)

  5. I’m probably one of the few who hates Tomari. If she was really Hazumu’s friend, she shouldn’t tried to sabotage his relationship with Yasuna. Being a true friend means giving up your desires for the other person. Tomari is not giving up her desires to make Hazumu happy. She really reminds me of Elis from Canvas 2. They both selfish girls who don’t when to stop.

  6. Sabotage? That’s harsh, she didn’t choke Yasuna to death…
    I usually hate girl characters who keep their feeling to themselves, and then, are angsting that a rival has appeared.
    BUT, in this case, male Hazumu was already making moves toward Yasuna, and Tomari wasn’t sure if she could come between them. THEN, she loved male Hazumu, so she’s surely unsure of her feeling for girl Hazumu, and it’s perfectly normal.
    Oh and “being a true friend means giving up your desires for the other person” could be true to Hazumu also.
