This is my FAVORITE part of Mori-kun!
- Episode Review
*Squee!* I absolutely love the cute smiles at the end of each episode. This one in particular left me with the little warm fuzzies, despite the fact that I disliked the kid to no end. (The bratty rascal type has never appealed to me). The little personal smile at the end of each episode, no matter how out of character, connects the viewer with the new character. A lot of viewers (myself included) fell in love with Haruhi from that very first smile.
I am not sure how I felt about the extremely young puppy love, but I know OHHC needs a bunch of sideplots before it actually takes off in its main direction. This is a similar set up to Fruits Basket, School Rumble, Shuffle, and any other love comedy series. A plethora of hilarious asides in order to delay and milk the actual simple main plot. This subplot was a little boring in my opinion, though the middle school girl was extremely cute. I guess this episode served as the ultimate loli fanservice in an anime like this. Maybe I’m just impatient, though, and I crave more actual romantic development and conflict between the main characters.
Still waiting for that development on Mori-kun! He’s still a shadow in the series, a meaningless husk for Honey to cling onto. He must be hiding some secret past or importance. That’s how it usually goes.
