My burner was broken for a long time and so I could not burn the anime off my beloved hard drive, and with new fansubs being released every day, by the time I did get a new burner in the mail, my hard drive was nearly toasted. With only 2GB left out of a 148GB, I was in serious trouble. Some mean burning took place. My hard drive is a little healthier now, but for a moment there, over 60% of the disk space was taken up by pure 95GB anime goodness.
So I was wondering just how much anime (hentai and manga included) people have on their hard drive, or at least the most that it has ever taken up. Some people may have bigger hard drives than others, so you can use percentages if you want.

Sadly, my laptop only has a 80GB drive, so I end up burning DVD-Rs pretty often to keep it from filling up. I have about 40GB of anime on my laptop and 120 DVD-Rs that I’ve burned…

I have an external hard drive to save wear and tear on my laptop one but I generally don’t keep the episodes around. After watching, I usually don’t want to watch it again.

**How dare all you peoples downloadings animus and burning it illegally. you all bad! but so am i.**
With that out of the way, I have an external drive to put it on, but I don’t burn. (Actually, that’s not quite true since I do burn but only for backup purposes.) After I watch, I delete, so I never have storage issues. This also gives me the incentive to buy the show if I like it. As for the backups, I also throw them away after I’ve watched the show.

About 500 GB of anime. I mostly keep it to share it with the rest of the world. I rarely watch something twice. Forget about “burning”. Not worth the time or money and many of the discs will be damaged in no time. Just buy an external HDD and encrypt it with TrueCrypt, so that you leave no evidence around.
Do you realize that your blog is full of link spam? You might not see it because they’re defined as “hidden”.
